TheTransitionCompany introduces Clostrex, a new complementary feed that supports cows’ intestinal health and immune systems. The product is designed to suppress Clostridia in the rumen and intestines and to restore and support the intestinal lining.
Clostridia can enter and colonise the gastrointestinal tract through forage. When these bacteria grow excessively, they can produce toxins that damage the intestinal wall. This can lead to health problems and reduced performance, with potential consequences for feed efficiency and dairy farm profitability.
Clostrex combines specifically selected Lactobacillus species, polyphenols, essential oils and yeast by-products. These ingredients work together through different mechanisms to inhibit Clostridia, help reduce toxin production and support a healthy gut microbiota.

Martijn Kirghof, product specialist at TTC, on working with veterinarians:

Following the initial appointment, further testing is carried out if needed to develop a targeted, tailored approach with Clostrex. Particularly when the herd starts improving again, feedback to the veterinarian is crucial so that we can work together to maintain animal health.”
Clostrex is a granular product that can easily be added to the feed mixer wagon and mixed into the TMR ration.
With Clostrex, TheTransitionCompany therefore offers dairy farmers the opportunity to:
